It's always a blast to have those repeat visits, to continue fun conversations and see the evolution of storytelling. So when Brendan hit me up to say that next feature was done, it was a no brainer to get him and crew on for a chat. Joined with his three leads, we got into the production, the casting, how the leads got that chemistry down. And then we had the interesting additions that Brendan added in, like differences with the Exorcist, the box, making the location seem logical. Obviously there’s a BIG release this week, and because of the magnitude we have gone back to the beginning. All the way to 2017, and then revisit all the building blocks that have led to the latest instalment from our ’Friendly Neighbourhood Webcrawler’ and the 38th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). We did actually cover the last joint on episode 196, but this was about creating an experience, capturing that Spidey vibe, which I think we did!!!

For this week people, we’re doing something unprecedented with your friendly neighbourhood @EchoChamberFP https://www.instagram.com/echochamberfp/ podcast! We’re coming with a ’TWO Parter’, BUT, in a completely different way to our normal approach!!!

Kicking things off with ‘Part One’ it’s serial killers and deadly creatures from Crown Creative Content, FilmHub, then The Asylum, Eagle Entertainment, Lighthouse Home Entertainment & The Movie Partnership bring us history, warriors and corporate greed. We then see how toxic friendships and deadly predators don’t play well together via Lionsgate, Thunder Road Films, Amazon MGM Studios. AND, Red Hour Films, Rivulet Films, Apple Original Films have a son vying for his father’s approval and his legacy with the sport of kings. While friendship, self worth and an upstart racket sport could upend everything!

The one Tom Brumpton was kind enough to set everything up, and we went non Festival for a change! We take a look at a documentary, you could call a music doc, but it's a lot more than that. It's also more than identity, cause it deals with voice. Now, we now it takes time to find your voice (in all the things you do), so what would happen if, to become you, you might lose the thing that defines what you do, that separates you from everyone else. AND, what is great is, we get to talk about those very things, plus a LOT more, with the star of the piece!!! There are also screenings at The Arzner Cinema until the 6th August 2026!!! And thanks to Prodigy PR's Taylor Shannon, we couldn't have picked a better way to start things off! We touch base with a filmmaker bringing his sophomore effect to the Festival that debuted his first feature. Now, that one got a lot of acclaim, and this new joint is most definitely going to eclipse that one. It's bold, unflinching, and gets to the very fabric of your consciousness. Leaving you pondering ideals & notions days after the final credits have rolled. We’re back at the Festivals, people, and this time out @EchoChamberFP https://www.instagram.com/echochamberfp/ is hitting Cali, for the 2026 edition of the Palm Springs International ShortFest!!!

Although many head to Palm Springs for the steaks, dates, or Brandini Toffee, we came for different flavours, served up by Kaitlin Flanigan & Rahul Barkley from Brigade. As we have a short film that cooks up an emotional platter of friendship, freedom, bravado, tension, stress, guilt, and denial. THEN, we sit down with the director and her co-writer for a fantastic chat about storytelling, visual style, finding the voice of the characters, story, and a LOT more!!! It's time to head to New York, for the 25th Tribeca Festival, and thanks to Tom Brumpton we have a short film that has approached familiar ideas, but in a completely new, fresh way! THEN, we get to sit down with a first time director, and discover the impetus for the film, the importance of not only showcasing Filipino Martial Arts, but ensuring that the fight scenes felt realistic. Delivering on the feeling of not being excepted, all the nuance behind that, as well as from the Filipino gym and team owner. Thanks to Franckie Francin & Patricia Chica at ChicArt PR we got to dip our toe into the Cannes Festival International Film & Inclusion and cover an extraordinary documentary playing as part of the Pavillon Afriques x Pavillon Afronova. THEN we sit down with the filmmaker to peel back the different aspects of storytelling that allowed for such an immersive experience. Shaimaa Khan and the good folks at London Flair PR came through with a new indie short that we were trying to schedule during the 50th Cleveland International Film Festival, but couldn't quite lock it down. However, we got it to work, so we get a story that, through great storytelling, will draw you in, and have you asking so many internal questions on humanity, empathy, perception, and more. PLUS, it will be screening at the upcoming 25th Tribeca Festival. THEN, we sit down with the great mind behind it all and get all the insights and reflection on making this work, bringing it to life, and putting it into the world!!! If you can feel that buzz, that emotion, people, well that is the anticipation of a UFC 'Numbered Event' just around the corner. AND, this one is a little more spicy, as there are TWO title fights anchoring the card! Which is taking place in Philadelphia (first time since 'UFC 133: Evans vs. Ortiz 2', 6th August 2011) at the Xfinity Mobile Arena.

The 'Liberty Bell' and crowds are gonna get rung, cause they're coming back hard, with this card. Two debuts and starting off with hometown hitter Jeremiah Wells, who's taking on streaking Myktybek Orolbai. Could there be a passing of the torch as Neil Magny takes on Ramiz Brahimaj, Vicente Luque takes on Tresean Gore, and Edson Barboza faces Esteban Ribovics!

Closing the show, we have two champions making the first defence of their belts. Mackenzie Dern (c) against Gillian Robertson sees two fighters with legit BJJ foundations that have developed their skillsets and become two badarse fighters. Where will it go, who knows, BUT it will be intense! THEN, Ian Machado Garry is going to attempt what only one other person has done, (that being eleven years ago!), and that is defeat the heir apparent! Islam Makhachev (c) has walked in the shadow of greatness, carving out his own legacy. With his second weight championship, he's looking to extend his story even further Saturday night. Well, people, we got a new look Meta Apex, and some great fights that really lit the place up!!! Questions got answered f'sure on Saturday night, in a BIG way! There were also some exceptional performances from rising talent!

Seven fights finished within the allotted timeframe, but even the ones that went the distance were crazy entertaining! The opening fight between Gigi Canuto & Carol Foro a really fun way to kick things off. Foro looked like a real problem, but Canuto also had a great second round and showed that she's gotta tons of scoop. And Alexia Thainara has showwoman / star written all over her!!! Miles Johns & Juliana Miller were able to get back on track, which was great to see. And it would seem Ty Miller has a wealth of ability!

Our 'Headline Fight' really cemented the fact that Quillan Salkilld is going to be a divisional nightmare. And who isn't wondering how soon he could become a title challenger is a liar!!! How do you top a stellar night in Serbia, is the question? As UFC Belgrade ended up, not just being a phenomenal, but also a record breaking night. Well, you just put together a night full of fighters looking for their moment to shine, their chance for redemption or even their chance to say goodbye!

After 41 fights, 30 being under the UFC banner, Saturday night will be the final walk for 'The Damage' Darren Elkins. Who has given us some many exciting, edge of your seat moments. It won't be an easy evening though, as Yadier del Valle is coming off his first loss and wants to show that was just a glitch in the programming. After 4 (including 'DWCS') tremendous showings, 'Burguesinha' Alexia Thainara gets another tough test and opportunity to demonstrate she could be the future of the division. However, Amanda Lemos would love to show, she's not done yet! And starting the night, are two spark plugs that have shown they haven't come to mess around! Carol Foro was in one of the best female fights on the 'Contender Series' and Gigi Canuto is not just a BJJ world champion, but she's shown she's straight heart on this season of 'The Ultimate Fighter'. So it might be their debuts, BUT what a way to start things off!!!

Holy Smokes, right!!! The UFC hit Serbia for the first time and the Belgrade Arena may never be the same again!!!

We saw records drop left, right, and centre, the most first round finishes EVER, with Stephanie Luciano starting things off. And although that wasn't quite the way the crowd wanted things to go, Jovan Leka got things back on track for the home nation! Michael Oliveira may have put on one of the most devastating performances as well! The night also had the most overall finishes, with 12, two ending in the 2nd round. Bogdan Grad's submission and Tofiq Musayev's TKO. And even the two that went the distance were exciting fights!

The night finished with a BANG too, as Navajo Stirling and Uroš Medić had the best nights of their careers so far, with explosive 1st round KO's! Obviously, there is a LOT to cover on today's @ChinCheckPod (ep 344). So hopefully you're ready to recap 'UFC Fight Night: Medić vs Rodriguez'!!!

This weekend, the UFC has its very first event in Belgrade at the Belgrade Arena. We have got a whopping 14 fights, with, 11 debuts, which must be (maybe), the highest number on a card.

There's a lot of intriguing matchups, where it seems winner takes, all, loser leaves the organization. So there's a lot to fight for. And when you look at the last two, Jan Błachowicz vs Navajo Stirling & Uroš Medić vs Daniel Rodriguez, these fights may not lead directly to a title next, they'll put you higher in the pecking order.
