More bitesize #EFTV coming at you, it would seem!!!
Apple TV+'s latest sci-fi series is coming to a close, So we have our overview of the last eight episodes (we looked at the first two here: https://www.podcaphilia.com/eftv/ep196) for you to digest, and see if you think it holds up to the award winning novella series.
'Murderbot' is written & directed by Chris Weitz & Paul Weitz, based on ‘The Murderbot Diaries’ by Martha Wells. A self-hacking security construct (Alexander Skarsgård) who is horrified by human emotion yet drawn to its vulnerable clients (Noma Dumezweni, David Dastmalchian, Sabrina Wu, Tattiawna Jones, Akshay Khanna, Tamara Podemski). Murderbot must hide its free will and complete a dangerous assignment when all it really wants is to be left alone to watch futuristic soap operas and figure out its place in the universe.
Here's our next bitesize edition of #EFTV!!!
Apple TV have adapted a true crime podcast, into a new 9 part drama series.
'Smoke' is directed by Kari Skogland & Joe Chappelle, and written by Dennis Lehane & Adriane McCray, based 'Firebug' by Truth Podcasting Corp. Tensions rise as the search for suspects begins. Michelle Calderone pumps the brakes on her personal life. Dave Gudsen gets creative.

For the first time, @EchoChamberFP https://www.instagram.com/echochamberfp/ ventures into those hallowed Austin vibes, with a little South by Southwest action! And if we’re gonna do it, what a way to get things popping!!!!
The beauty of expansive, long-form conversation, is that it can really get under the skin of topics many just skate over, and demystify preconceived notions. So when Falco's Imani Charles came with the opportunity to speak with Maya Annik Bedward about her feature directorial debut, which was dealing with topics & notions not normally discussed, of course we were eager to get that done! And what an interesting, expansive confab was had. Maya was incredibly open about the whole process, giving her entire team their flowers and talking about Haiti & Vodou with so much care, and passion, it was clear she was truly meant to shine a light on these topics! This is most definitely not one to miss, people!!! Watch the conversation: HERE! https://youtu.be/ugoWcj41RRE

We're now taking a look at Irish Film Festival London's closing film, thanks again to Sophie Toumazis & Marcello Aisoni It's in part a poetic exploration of past reflection, and also a pondering on art, what makes it worthy of preservation and how it connects us to moments of our lives! ALSO, we get to sit down with the director and take a journey into his transition from documentary to narrative film, and the interesting approach he used!!! It's back to the Festival scene, and thanks to the one, Cynthia Amsden, @EchoChamberFP https://www.instagram.com/echochamberfp/ ventures to the 'Vancouver International Film Festival' (VIFF) for the first time!!!
Just one bit of coverage, BUT, this one is something special! We have a documentary that peels back the curtain on identity, cultural appropriation, stigmatization, and discrimination around tattoos in the Philippines. It also explores through the director, what it means to be Filipino in Canada and the Philippines. THEN, we sit down with the director of the film, and his producer, to really get some insights into the source of the feelings, why the documentary made sense, what it was like being back in the Philippines, and traveling to Buscalan. As well as the experience of being around Apo Whang-od and her very first apprentice Grace Palicas! We manage to squeeze in so much over the course of 67 minutes, so you REALLY won't want to miss this one!!! Watch the conversation: HERE! https://youtu.be/DrJjrTiqm0g

All roads lead to Seattle's Climate Pledge Arena, as the UFC touches down Saturday, for a night packed with intriguing match-ups!
With a number of pivotal fights, there is the opportunity for fighters to realise their potential. To stake a claim, and maybe those first steps to greatness! Will Navajo Stirling be able to emulate the success of his teammates, can Alexia Thainara continue to impress? There are a few hometown fighters looking to shine, none more so than Michael Chiesa, in the featured bout. Can he go out one final time as an ultimate fighter, or will Niko Price rain on his parade and potentially save his roster spot!?!
There are 13 fights taking place, all with their own nuances, and @ChinCheckPod (ep 311) is here to break them down so you can just sit back, and enjoy the ‘UFC Fight Night: Adesanya vs Pyfer’ spectacle!!!
Saturday night is 'Fight Night', and it promises high-octane action and nail-biting drama as we head back to Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena.
On the night we have a stack of incredible fights (Don't listen to Dan Hardy!), there's a LOT on the line. We have a couple of debuts, some fighters potentially fighting for their tenure on the roster. There are veterans trying to show they still have it, and young guns looking to take that shine! We also have TWO re-matches, Robocop goes at The Hulk again, and then the Headline bout!!!
Like with the 'UFC 318' fight, this 'BMF' title clash is a rematch, and it is fire! So, @ChinCheckPod (ep 305) is ready to preview this intriguing card, so you can get ready for 'UFC 326: Holloway (c) vs Oliveira 2'!!!!
So, this Saturday night, the UFC goes from Houston, Texas to Mexico City, Mexico, for a potentially wild card!
There is a host of Mexican talent on display, and six fighters making their debut! I mean, things open up with John Wick against Van Wilder, as Damian Pinas & Wesley Schultz get busy. Regina Tarin & Javier Reyes also get to make that first walk, against Ernesta Kareckaitė & Douglas Silva de Andrade. On the 'Main Card' Imanol Rodríguez gets to show & prove against the tough Kevin Borjas. There's also fighters with everything on the line, as Erik Silva, Cristian Quiñonez, Macy Chiasson, José Daniel Medina & Daniel Zellhuber look to halt skids and maybe their exits from the promotion. BUT all eyes are definitely fixed on those final two bouts, as we ponder, has Marlon Vera gone as high as he can, and how far can David Martínez go!?! THEN, it might be short notice, but will Lone'er Kavanagh be the next shining prospect to show out, or will Brandon Moreno declare to the world, hunting season ain't done for 'The Assassin Baby'!!!!
With all this on deck, the Arena CDMX is the place to be at 17:00 ET, and @ChinCheckPod (ep 303) is the place to be right now, for your full fight breakdown of ‘UFC Fight Night: Moreno vs Kavanagh’. So sit back and let's get things rocking!!!
The UFC has packed things up, and Saturday night they'll be tearing things up inside the Toyota Center!
Every week there seems to be great match-ups, and the Texas crowd is most definitely in for a treat! We have Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani making his debut agains Phil Rowe and Josiah Harrell makes his debut against the surging Jacobe Smith. Ramiz Brahimaj vs Punahele Soriano screams finish f'sure and then in the feature bout we see if Dan Ige can stamp his experience on things or will Melquizael Costa rise to this next challenge! AND the last two fights, Geoff Neal vs Uroš Medić & Sean Strickland vs Anthony Hernandez have the potential to be incredible!!!
We have 14 fights to breakdown, so whether you're in Houston or at home , @ChinCheckPod (ep 301) has you covered with the full ‘UFC Fight Night: Strickland vs Hernandez’ preview!!!
Hopefully you're still with us, as we get into 'Part THREE' of @EchoChamberFP https://www.instagram.com/echochamberfp/, which is a deep one!!!
It's all thanks to the GREAT AJ Feuerman, who never disappoints. This time, she had a new indie feature that wants you to ask questions and contemplate that line between reality and art, and hierarchical trust & responsibility! THEN, we get to sit down with the writer and one of the stars of the piece to really dig into all the aspects that bring this film to life. Which gives us a really fascinating 90 minutes of insights!!! Watch the conversation: HERE! https://youtu.be/co0kNYuda5I
