Echo Chamber - 140
This week’s @EchoChamberFP takes a look at two films that we missed recently and an Oscar winner.
Michael Boccalini & Che Grant directed and co-wrote with Michael Coburn, 'Love Possibly'. A fly-on-the-wall documentary film crew follow Alex (Steve Hodgetts), a hopelessly romantic, rom-com obsessed virgin on a quest to find love. Alex quickly finds himself out of his depth when Lana (Anna Danshina), a Moldovan mail-order bride he met online makes the bold decision of moving to London to marry him. He has to rope his neighbour Natalie (Julie Nesher) in to translate and help him navigate the relationship.
'My Octopus Teacher' directed and written by Pippa Ehrlich & James Reed. It follows Craig Foster, a filmmaker who after feeling burnt out goes to live by the ocean and starts diving to destress. In doing so, he stumbles upon a young octopus. He decides to visit and track the octopus, who starts to displays remarkable curiosity about him and they forge an unlikely relationship.
'Palm Springs' is the directorial debut from Max Barbakow who co-wrote and co-created the story with Andy Siara. When carefree Nyles (Andy Samberg) and reluctant maid of honor Sarah (Cristin Milioti) have a chance encounter at a Palm Springs wedding, things get complicated when they find themselves trapped in a time loop, unable to escape the venue, themselves, or each other.
