John Clayton Doyle writes & directs 'I'm an Electric Lampshade' which is a real life 'David Brent' story, starring Doug McCorkle. Who after years as a corporate accountant, friendly, endearing, but who always coloured between the lines, took a leap of faith. He retired and embarked on the transformation that had always been inside but he'd repressed. Doug takes a journey, spanning continents (United States, Mexico, and the Philippines), to find his inner voice and finally be an owl and have a hoot. Yes, it’s a story of someone becoming a rockstar, but it's also a story of someone unshackling themselves from doubt and daring to be their true selves!

Doug McCorkle
After a successful career in public and corporate accounting, Doug McCorkle retired at age 60 and decided to pursue his dream: to become a singer and performer. A lifelong music lover, Doug was the DJ of a weekly radio show for several years at a local station in New York’s Hudson Valley region, but never sang in public until after his retirement.
What started as a music video/short film, made in collaboration with writer/director John Clayton Doyle, evolved over several years to become a feature-length film entitled 'I'm an Electric Lampshade'. In addition to producing and starring in the film, Doug co-wrote many of the songs.

Alex Rollins Berg is an award-winning writer and director. Throughout his career, he has worked as a storyboard artist, title card designer, cinematographer, editor, and agency producer.
He started out annotating the script for the Academy Award-winning film Capote. And his last short film 'Ruth' (2019) has won several awards.
