Echo Chamber - 169 - Part One
@EchoChamberFP this week, is an epic 'Two Parter'!!! In 'Part One' we have a new Shudder original modernising vampires, a sinister trip to the therapist, and a safe cracking prequel!
'Dead & Beautiful' is directed by David Verbeek who co-wrote with Hugh Travers. A group of five rich, spoiled Asian twenty-somethings, Mason (Gijs Blom), Bin-Ray (Philip Juan), Anastasia (Anna Marchenko), Alex (Yen Tsao), Lulu (Aviis Zhong), are suffering from upper class ennui. In search of excitement, the five friends form the “Circle,” a group where they take turns designing a unique, extravagant experience for the others. But things go wrong when the privileged urbanites awaken after a night out, to find they have developed vampire fangs and an unquenchable thirst for flesh, blood, and adventure at any price.
'Hypnotic' is directed by Matt Angel, Suzanne Coote and written by Richard D'Ovidio. Feeling stuck both personally and professionally, Jenn (Kate Siegel) is recommended to a renowned hypnotherapist (Jason O'Mara) by her best friend Amy (Jessie Fraser), to get over trauma. Only to find herself caught in a deadly mind game.
'Army of Thieves' is directed by Matthias Schweighöfer and written by Zack Snyder & Shay Hatten. Ditching the undead, Army of Thieves puts a modern spin on classic heist films with European flair and an unlikely love story. It chronicles the harrowing adventures of a sheepish German bank teller named Sebastian who gets enlisted into a motley crew of some of Interpol's most wanted, by Gwendoline (Nathalie Emmanuel). The rest of the team are Korina (Ruby O. Fee), hacker, Brad Cage (Stuart Martin), the muscle, and Rolph (Guz Khan), the getaway driver. Their mission, to crack a trio of Europe's most impenetrable vaults known as the Ring Cycle!
