Echo Chamber - 203
This week’s EchoChamberFP takes a look at the feature directorial debut from a new British talent. Plus, a new rom-com, and a new Happy Madison joint, both on Netflix.
'A Perfect Pairing' is directed by Stuart McDonald and written by Elizabeth Hackett & Hilary Galanoy. To land a major client, a hard-driving LA wine-company exec (Victoria Justice) travels to an Australian sheep station, where she ends up working as a ranch hand and sparking with a rugged local (Adam Demos).
Daniel Glenn-Barbour makes his directorial feature debut with 'Yes Man', which he also wrote. Darrell (Kieton Saunders-Browne), an intern at a corporate company becomes disillusioned with the white-collar culture. He chooses to surround himself with the brotherhood of a street gang run by Ben (Kirk Smith), & Ryan (Keon Martial Phillip).
'Hustle' is directed by Jeremiah Zagar, and written by Taylor Materne & Will Fetters. After discovering Bo Cruz (Juancho Hernangómez) a once-in-a-lifetime player with a rocky past abroad, Stanley Sugerman (Adam Sandler) a down on his luck basketball scout takes it upon himself to bring the phenom to the States without his team's approval. Against the odds, they have one final shot to prove they have what it takes to make it in the NBA.
