Coming up in 'Part One' we have a new superhero jaunt from Prime Video. Then 'Netflix' has a new buddy comedy, and we end on a new animal adventure / horror flick from Universal Pictures.
'Samaritan' is directed by Julius Avery and written by Bragi F. Schut, who adapted his own comic, which he created with Marc Olivent & Renzo Podesta. Thirteen year old Sam Cleary (Javon Walton) suspects that his mysteriously reclusive neighbor Mr. Smith (Sylvester Stallone) is actually the legendary vigilante Samaritan, who was reported dead 25 years ago. With crime on the rise and the city on the brink of chaos, Sam makes it his mission to coax his neighbor out of hiding to save the city from ruin.
'Me Time' is written & directed by John Hamburg. Sonny (Kevin Hart), a stay-at-home dad, finds himself with some "me time" for the first time in years while his wife (Regina Hall) and kids (Che Tafari & Amentii Sledge) are away. He reconnects with his former best friend Huck (Mark Wahlberg) for a wild weekend that nearly upends his life.
'Beast' is directed by Baltasar Kormákur and written by Ryan Engle. Dr Nate Daniels (Idris Elba), a recently widowed, returns to South Africa, where he first met his wife, with their daughters, Meredith (Iyana Halley) & Norah (Leah Sava Jeffries). There, he reconnects with old family friend and wildlife biologist, Martin Battles (Sharlto Copley). But what begins as a journey of healing jolts into a fearsome fight for survival when a lion, a survivor of blood-thirsty poachers who now sees all humans as the enemy, begins stalking them.
