Echo Chamber - 241
PEOPLE, a new EchoChamberFP is here for your enjoyment!
Netflix has a new rom-com with a couple of vets, then Prime Video has the true story of bank robbery. Then A24 & Signature Entertainment bring us another true story, this time showing lived experience of homophobia in the Marines!
'Your Place or Mine' is written & directed by Aline Brosh McKenna, in her feature directorial debut. Debbie (Reese Witherspoon) and Peter (Ashton Kutcher) are best friends and total opposites. She craves routine with her son in LA; he thrives on change in NY. When they swap houses and lives for a week they discover what they think they want might not be what they really need.
'Bandit' is directed by Allan Ungar @allanungar written by Kraig Wenman, and based on Robert Knuckle’s & Ed Arnold's book 'The Flying Bandit'. Gilbert Galvan Jr (Josh Duhamel), a charming criminal, escapes from prison and assumes a new identity. After falling in love with Andrea (Elisha Cuthbert), a caring social worker he can’t provide for, he discovers he is exceptionally good at robbing banks using the most elaborate schemes. With the help of loan shark gangster Tommy (Mel Gibson), Gilbert’s heists go bigger and bolder - until his perfect plan finally goes wrong.
'The Inspection' is the feature directorial debut from Elegance Bratton, who also wrote the film. Ellis French (Jeremy Pope), a young, gay Black man, rejected by his mother (Gabrielle Union) and with few options for his future, decides to join the Marines. Meeting the physical requirements, but not as successful in disguising his sexual orientation. Making him the target of a near-lethal hazing from training instructor Leland Laws (Bokeem Woodbine) and a fellow recruit, Laurence Harvey (McCaul Lombardi).
