Echo Chamber - 248
Hope you're ready for this week's EchoChamberFP episode!!!
We start off with an action Netflix original, then we step back in time for Tandem Pictures & Momentum Pictures indie feature. Next up is a (fairly) true story from Marv Studios & AppleTV+ and we bring it home with Break Out Pictures & Bankside's new time travel gem!
'Kill Boksoon' 길복순 is written & directed by Byun Sung-hyun. Gil Bok-soon (Jeon Do-yeon), a legendary killer in the contract killing industry, gets caught up in an unavoidable confrontation just before renewing her contract with the company.
'Black Bear' is written & directed by Lawrence Michael Levine. At a remote lake house, filmmaker Allison (Aubrey Plaza) arrives as a house guest to a troubled couple (Sarah Gadon & Christopher Abbott), who have eschewed their life in the city. Battling writer’s block, Allison sparks a calculated game of desire and jealousy in pursuit of a new work that blurs the boundaries of autobiography and invention.
'Tetris' is directed by Jon S. Baird and written by Noah Pink. Henk Rogers (Taron Egerton) an enterprising game developer risks everything in a race to outmaneuver duplicitous insiders to negotiate a deal with Soviet Union bureaucrats (Oleg Shtefanko & Igor Grabuzov) for the international licensing rights to what would eventually become one of the most recognizable and widely played games in history.
'Lola' is the feature directorial debut from Andrew Legge and written by Angeli Macfarlane. England, 1941, sisters Thomasina (Emma Appleton) and Martha Hanbury (Stefanie Martini) have created a machine that can intercept broadcasts from the future. This delightful apparatus allows them to explore their inner punk a generation before the movement comes into existence. But with World War II escalating, the sisters decide to use the machine as a weapon of intelligence, with world-altering consequences.
