On this week's EchoChamberFP we have another four films for your listening pleasure!!!
We start off with a new Thai cooking drama from Netflix, then we have three films from directors making their feature debuts, two of which are courtesy of Signature Entertainment!
Screen Media has a new heist drama, then Haymarket Films & Lowkey Films have a heartwarming tale of friendship. And we close with a tale of basketball, culture, love, and identity from Focus Features.
'Hunger' is directed by Sitisiri Mongkolsiri and written by Kongdej Jaturanrasamee. Aoy (Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying), a woman in her twenties, runs her family's local stir-fried noodles restaurant in the old quarter of Bangkok. One day, she receives an invitation to leave the family business and join team 'Hunger', Thailand's number one luxury Chef's table team led by the famously ingenious, and infamously nasty, Chef Paul (Nopachai Chaiyanam).
'The Locksmith' is the feature directorial debut from Nicolas Harvard, written by John Glosser, Joe Russo, Chris LaMont, & Ben Kabialis. Miller Graham (Ryan Phillippe) is an expert locksmith who went to prison after a job. After getting released, he tries to start over with his daughter (Madeleine Guilbot) and ex-girlfriend (Kate Bosworth), but after a kidnapping, everything changes.
'Kindling' is the feature directorial debut from Connor O'Hara which he also wrote. In this fresh coming-of-age tale, Sid (George Somner), a young adult, wants to create a legacy and be remembered forever as he faces mortality due to a terminal illness. With his obsession for astronomy and the atmosphere, he comes up with a plan to bring all his friends (Conrad Khan, Wilson Mbomio, Rory J Saper, Kaine Zajaz) together and make this summer unforgettable.
'Boogie' is the feature directorial debut from Eddie Huang he also wrote the joint. Alfred "Boogie" Chin (Taylor Takahashi), a basketball phenom living in Queens, New York, who dreams of one day playing in the NBA. While his parents (Perry Yung & Pamelyn Chee) pressure him to focus on earning a scholarship to an elite college, Boogie must find a way to navigate a new girlfriend (Taylour Paige), high school, on-court rivals (Bashar Jackson) and the burden of expectation.
