Echo Chamber - 256
It's time again for another EchoChamberFP episode!!!
This week we have four films, Akson Studio & Netflix have actioned with a Mother fighting for more than her life. The cinema is getting a tale of fairies, sugar, and fawner, from SERU Animation & Signature Entertainment. In 92 we had hustler / basketball classic, and 20th Century Studios & Disney+ are bringing us a remake. AND to bring it home, Jackrabbit Media & Shudder have a tale of social media likes, and real world duplicity!
'Mother's Day (Dzien Matki)' is directed by Mateusz Rakowicz, who co-wrote with Lukasz M. Maciejewski. Nina (Agnieszka Grochowska), a secretive ex-NATO Special Operations agent, must use all her lethal skills to save her son who has been kidnapped by ruthless gangsters. Finding Max is a double chance for her.
'My Fairy Troublemaker' is directed by Caroline Origer and written by Silja Clemens. When mischievous fairy Violetta (Jella Haase) catastrophically fails her tooth fairy exam she won’t accept the result. She then sneaks into the world of humans and straight into the bedroom of 12-year-old Maxie (Lucy Carolan). What follows next is a true adventure as Maxie and Violetta eventually team up to find the portal back to the fairy world before it’s too late.
'White Men Can't Jump (2023)' is directed by Calmatic and written by Kenya Barris, Doug Hall & Ron Shelton. Jeremy (Jack Harlow), a former star of the game whose injuries stalled his career, and Kamal (Sinqua Walls), once a promising player who derailed his own future in the sport. Juggling tenuous relationships, financial pressures, and serious internal struggles, the two ballers--opposites who are seemingly miles apart--find they might have more in common than they imagined possible.
'Influencer' is directed by Kurtis David Harder who co-wrote with Tesh Guttikonda. While struggling on a solo backpacking trip in Thailand, social media influencer Madison (Emily Tennant) meets CW (Cassandra Naud), who travels with ease and shows her a more uninhibited way of living, but CW's interest in her takes a darker turn.
