Jigeesh Magar

Jigeesh Magar

Writer, Director, Producer, Editor, Cinematographer

Jigeesh Magar was born in Birmingham, England to Indian immigrants Surendar, an electrical engineer, and Nimi, an artist. Both being huge film fanatics, they introduced Jigeesh to American, European, and Indian cinema at a very early age. The family moved to Houston, TX when he was just four years old, his love for movies growing exponentially with each passing year while adjusting to living in a new country, being shaped by the experiences. They later moved to Colorado where he went to the University of Colorado at Boulder. Shortly after graduation, Jigeesh sold two screenplays and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, the location for his first feature as director, Stitch in Time. After festivals and critical praise, the movie had a limited theatrical release and was sold to Amazon. Working as a script doctor and directing industrials, Jigeesh wrote The Alligator Man, his next feature, that got stuck in development at a major studio. Hence, he ultimately decided to sell that script and soon wrote and directed Tacoma, which was picked up for worldwide distribution by Buffalo 8. When Jigeesh is not making movies, he’s watching them as he has since childhood.
