In 1991, DMX hit The Source's Unsigned Hype column. Which started the momentum, that got fuelled by Mic Geronimo's 'Time To Build' single, that featured X, Jay-Z & Ja Rule.

Guest spots on '24 Hrs. to Live' by Mase, 'Money, Power & Respect' by The LOX, '4, 3, 2, 1' by LL Cool J. Lead to 'It's Dark and Hell Is Hot' in February 1998 and seven months later (December 1998) he drops 'Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood'. A year later (December 1999) '... And Then There Was X' hit!
