EFTV - 181: Long Distance Love

Don't call it a comeback.....BUT #EFTV is back like a thunderclap!

We had to bring you something special, as it's been a while. So thanks to the PR Queen, AJ Feuerman (should say former, as she's now taking over corporate!), we are looking at a new web series that has managed to do, what many big budget productions have not. They've been able to encapsulate the essence of a real relationship, and bring it to life!!! AND, because of this, we had to talk to the co-creator & star of the piece, to find out what it took, and the emotional price, of being so honest & raw!

'Play It By Ear' is written & directed by Simon Kienitz Kincade & Emily Ann Zisko. It's a six-part series which follows Lukas (Dillon Bentlage), originally from the Netherlands, and Mila (Emily Ann Zisko), born and raised in California. They are college sweethearts planning on moving in together after graduation. But when their careers force them to stay apart, they resolve to rise to the challenge of a long-distance relationship. Mila is accepted into a yearlong screenwriters program in Los Angeles, and Lukas moves across the world to work for a magazine in Amsterdam. For one year, they'll try to make things work -- but cracks in their bond appear sooner than expected.

Emily Ann Zisko

Actress, Director, Writer

Emily Ann Zisko is a writer, producer, director and actor based in Los Angeles. She won the award for Best Actress at The Austin Comedy Film Festival in 2021 for her film Drama Mama. She has also production managed The New Nanny, as a part of Hulu’s ‘Bite Size Halloween,’ and The Breakthrough, starring Greta Lee and Ben Sinclair. Most recently, Emily was the Associate Producer on the AFI Thesis Short Film Fishmonger, based on the Slamdance Grand Prize winning screenplay of the same name.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston University with a degree in English Literature.
