Echo Chamber: LFF21 - Day 6
It's 'Day 6', which means we're halfway through the '65th BFI London Film Festival' and there's no stop to the great stories coming your way.
Today we go to a fashion shoot, a busy restaurant kitchen and dusty tundra of Montana.
The @EchoChamberFP festival coverage is at full steam!
'All Is Vanity' written & directed by Marcos Mereles is his feature debut. An eccentric photographer (Sid Phoenix), his eager assistant (Yaseen Aroussi), a jaded make-up artist (Rosie Steel) and a bored model (Isabelle Bonfrer) gather for a fashion shoot in a London warehouse. But when one of their number disappears, events take a turn for the bizarre.
'Boiling Point' is directed by Philip Barantini and he co-wrote with James Cummings. We follow Andy (Stephen Graham), an emotionally damaged and drug addicted chef, across one crazily busy night in his top London restaurant. He has to deal with acrimonious staff, difficult customers, an old adversary and the pressures of keeping a frenetic kitchen and busy restaurant floor going.
Jane Campion writes & directs 'The Power of the Dog' the film adaptation of Thomas Savage's novel of the same name. Charismatic rancher Phil Burbank (Benedict Cumberbatch) inspires fear and awe in those around him. When his brother, George (Jesse Plemons) brings home a new wife, Rose (Kirsten Dunst) and her son, Peter (Kodi Smit-McPhee), Phil torments them until he finds himself exposed to the possibility of love.
