The flava keeps on coming, with our @EchoChamberFP festival coverage!
Lyle Mitchell Corbine, Jr makes his directorial debut with 'Wild Indian'. In the 1980s, two indigenous American boys, Makwa (Michael Greyeyes) and Teddo (Chaske Spencer), cover up the killing of a classmate. After years of separation following wildly divergent paths, they must finally confront how their traumatic secret has irrevocably shaped their lives.
Clio Barnard brings her newest feature 'Ali & Ava' to the big screen. Ali (Adeel Akhtar) and Ava (Claire Rushbrook), both lonely for different reasons, meet and sparks fly. Over a lunar month a deep connection begins to grow, despite the legacy of Ava's past relationship, and Ali's emotional turmoil at the breakdown of his marriage.
'The Lost Daughter' is an adaptation of Elena Ferrante's novel (of the same name) AND the directorial debut of Maggie Gyllenhaal. While on a summer holiday in a quiet seaside spot in Greece, Leda (Olivia Colman) is disturbed by a brash American family. As they takeover the beach, she becomes fascinated by a stunning young mum (Dakota Johnson) and her daughter. When the daughter momentarily gets lost, the two women connect. Prompting memories of her own early motherhood (Jessie Buckley) to come back and unravel her.
