AND, we just up the ante in 'Part TWO' of our @EchoChamberFP coverage of the 2023 (31st May - 6th June).
The writer of one of the Festival standouts, 'The Warm Season' stops by to talk career, and the genesis of the film, plus a lot more!
'The Warm Season' is directed by Janet Grillo and written by Adam Seidel. It's 1967 and 12 year-old Clive (Mia Akemi Brown) is playing in the New Mexican desert, when a man mysteriously appears before her. His name is Mann (Michael Esparza), he's from another planet which is dying, and he's searching for a new place for his kind to live. He hands her a glowing orb, asks her to hide it and promises he'll be back. Now it's 25 years later and Clive's (Carie Kawa) still waiting, struggling to keep the motel afloat and her aging mother, Carlene (Cynthia Mace), alive. Her husband, Mitch (Daniel Dorr), urges Clive to sell the motel, restart their life and revive their love. But Clive is holding onto the secret and the stone, too stuck in the past to pull herself into the future. And then Mann returns.

Adam Seidel
Playwright, Writer, Producer
Adam is a Midwestern playwright / screenwriter currently living in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. His journey as a writer began fourteen years ago in Chicago's Second City sketch comedy writing program, which eventually led to him writing full-length plays, four of which have been produced off-broadway (59E59, Cherry Lane, IATI and Miranda Theatre). Adam has an affinity for creating character driven darkly comedic narratives, most likely spurring from his youth when he played make believe in a ravine near his childhood home pretending to be a delta force operative and deer and wildlife were his targets. Adam's debut feature film, The Warm Season, premiered simultaneously at the Santa Fe Film Festival and Boston Sci Fi Festival, winning best cinematography in Santa Fe and the festival director's award for overall best film in Boston, and went on to screen at the Milwaukee Film Festival and the Arizona International Film Festival in Tucson, Arizona. When Adam isn't working towards being a working screenwriter he's raising his two children and teaching creative writing to grade schoolers in his local community.
