On Today's @EchoChamberFP we take a look at a couple of sci-fi flicks (one a little more realistic than the other) that are both new on Netflix. As well as a thriller/horror that's just out on Shudder.
'Super Me' is the new Netflix film, directed & written by Zhang Chong. SANG Yu is so exhausted from trying to stay awake. Every time he closes his eyes, a demon chases and kills him in his dreams. One night SANG realizes he has a special power: he can bring treasures from his dreams into reality. Almost overnight, he becomes a rich man. But his wealth also attracts the attention of a ruthless gangster.
Directed by Neil Marshall who co-wrote with Charlotte Kirk & Edward Evers-Swindell, 'The Reckoning' is a new Shudder Original out today! After losing her husband Joseph (Joe Anderson) during the Great Plague, Grace Haverstock (Charlotte Kirk) is unjustly accused of being a witch and placed in the custody of England's most ruthless witch-hunter, Judge Moorcroft (Sean Pertwee). Forced to endure physical and emotional torture while steadfastly maintaining her innocence, Grace must face her own inner demons as the Devil himself starts to work his way into her mind.
'Oxygen' is Alexandre Aja return to French language cinema (there's a good English dub), which is written by Christie LeBlanc. A young woman, Elizabeth Hansen (Mélanie Laurent), wakes up in a medical cryo unit. She doesn’t remember who she is or how she ended up sequestered in a box no larger than a coffin. As she’s running out of oxygen, she must rebuild her memory to find a way out of her nightmare.
