Four films in 'Part One', two from Netflix, an office comedy, and a teen revenge story. We have a dating tale from Prime Video and a home invasion Shudder original!
Mirror, Mirror (aka 'Espejo, Espejo') is written & directed by Marc Crehuet. 4 staffers at a cosmetics firm in its 50th year: the marketing director (Santi Millán) who is almost as old himself, a 25 year old (Natalia de Molina) ambitious female assistant, her sister (Malena Alterio) being pushed to "come out," and an insecure chubby 40 year old (Carlos Areces) administrator.
'Dating & New York' is the feature directorial debut from Jonah Feingold who also wrote the flick. Once upon a time in New York city… two heartbroken millenials, Milo Marks (Jaboukie Young-White) & Wendy Brinkley (Francesca Reale), cursed by the paradox of choice can't seem to escape their romantic pasts and presents as they attempt to find love in the city that doesn't sleep - but sleeps around a lot.
'Who Invited Them' is written & directed by Duncan Birmingham. Adam (Ryan Hansen) and Margo’s (Melissa Tang) housewarming party goes well enough except for this mysterious couple, Tom (Timothy Granaderos) and Sasha (Perry Mattfeld), lingering after the other guests have left. The couple reveals themselves to be their wealthy and successful neighbors, but as one nightcap leads to another, Adam and Margo start to suspect their new friends are duplicitous strangers with a dark secret.
'Do Revenge, is directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who co-wrote with Celeste Ballard. Two high school students in Palm Beach, Florida, Drea (Camila Mendes) and Eleanor (Maya Hawke), have their lives upended and become rejected by their high school. After a topless video of herself originally intended for only her boyfriend, Max (Austin Abrams), is leaked, Drea feels shame. Eleanor became an outcast when rumors about her holding Carrissa (Ava Capri) down and attempting to kiss her began to spread. Drea and Eleanor form a friendship and agree to go after one another's bullies.
