Echo Chamber - 218
This week on EchoChamberFP with have three films. Two very different types of horror, one from Signature Entertainment and the other 1091 Pictures. Then we have an Amazon Video exclusive from Buffalo 8 & Eyeam Cinema.
'To The Moon' is written & directed by Scott Friend. Struggling addict and TV actor Dennis (Scott Friend) retreats to his remote family home with his wife Mia (Madeleine Morgenweck) in a last ditch effort to detox and save their marriage. Their isolation is disrupted when Dennis’ estranged brother Roger (Will Brill) unexpectedly arrives in the middle of their first night, pushing the couple’s commitment to each other to the limit as Roger infiltrates their relationship. As Dennis’ nightmares and actions become more disturbing, they are tasked with distinguishing reality from hallucination.
'When the Screaming Starts' is directed by Conor Boru who co-wrote with Ed Hartland. Aidan (Ed Hartland) has a dream; that dream is bathed in blood and glory as he documents his attempt to become one of the UK’s most infamous serial killers, with Malcom (Steve Hodgetts), a documentary filmmaker. Recruiting a gang of damaged souls with the same urge to kill, he soon realises that some of his blood-soaked cult members may be a little more into the murder and mayhem than he is. Who will make the headlines? Who will be forgotten and who will be left on the chopping block when all is said and done?
'Hunther' is directed by Aleshia Cowser Jackson who co-wrote with Ivan Mbakop. Newlyweds Morgan (April Parker Jones) and Charlie Westbrook (Hassan Johnson), set off to Birmingham to begin their life together. Morgan’s preteen daughter, Lauren (Jasmyn T. Curry), takes to Charlie, and the two develop a special bond. But when that bond goes beyond boundaries, residue from Charlie’s past surfaces and Morgan realises she must fight through the virtual and literal prisons that her once-upon-a-time prince charming has built around her.
