Echo Chamber - 226
In this week's EchoChamberFP we take a look at four films!
We start with a couple of joints that came out during lockdown. The first being Songy's newest instalment in their 'Spider-Man Universe' (SSU), then there's a drug infused drama/horror from Well Go USA Entertainment, and Netflix's new Christmas offering. Closing the show is a great new indie flick from Ascent Film & Lightbulb Film Distribution.
'Morbius' is directed Daniel Espinosa and written by Matt Sazama & Burk Sharpless. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr Michael Morbius (Jared Leto) attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.
'Synchronic' is directed by Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead with Benson writing the script. When New Orleans paramedics and longtime best friends Steve (Anthony Mackie) and Dennis (Jamie Dornan) are called to a series of bizarre, gruesome accidents, they chalk it up to the mysterious new party drug found at the scene. But after Dennis’s oldest daughter, Brianna (Ally Ioannides) suddenly disappears, Steve stumbles upon a terrifying truth about the supposed psychedelic that will challenge everything he knows about reality—and the flow of time itself.
'Falling for Christmas' is the feature directorial debut from Janeen Damian and written by Jeff Bonnett & Ron Oliver. A newly engaged, spoiled hotel heiress (Lindsay Lohan) gets into a skiing accident, suffers from total amnesia and finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner (Chord Overstreet) and his precocious daughter, Avy (Olivia Perez) in the days leading up to Christmas.
'Shadows' is directed Carlo Lavagna and written by Damiano Bruè, Fabio Mollo & Vanessa Picciarelli. Alma (Mia Threapleton) and Alex (Lola Petticrew), two adolescent sisters, are survivors of a catastrophic event. They live deep in the woods with their Mother (Saskia Reeves), a strict, over-protective woman who has sheltered them from ominous presences, the Shadows, which live in the daylight and infest the world beyond the river, a border for Alma and Alex. When they follow Mother, out for hunting, Alma and Alex start a series of events which will make them discover the truth about the Shadows and their own reality.
