Working Title Films, Studio Canal & Instinct Productions look to diversify the rom-com, and Netflix takes it to the woods. 'The Best Man' is directed by Shane Dax Taylor who co-wrote with C. Alec Rossel & Daniel Zirilli. Mercenaries seize control of a remote resort hotel during a wedding and it's up to the best man (Brendan Fehr), the groom (Luke Wilson) and their drunken best friend (Dolph Lundgren) to stop the terrorists and save the hostages.
'What's Love Got to Do with It?' is directed by Shekhar Kapur and written by Jemima Khan. How do you find lasting love in today's world? For documentary-maker and dating app addict Zoe (Lily James), swiping right has only delivered an endless stream of Mr. Wrongs to her eccentric mother Cath's (Emma Thompson) dismay. For Zoe's childhood friend and neighbor Kaz (Shazad Latif), the answer is to follow his parents' example and opt for an arranged (or "assisted") marriage to a bright and beautiful bride from Pakistan. As Zoe films his hopeful journey from London to Lahore to marry a stranger chosen by his parents, she begins to wonder if she might have something to learn from a profoundly different approach to finding love.
'Just Super' (Helt Super) is directed by Rasmus A. Sivertsen and written by Kamilla Krogsveen. This epic family adventure is all about finding your own unique superpower. 11-year-old gaming enthusiast Hedvig finds her life turned upside down when she must step into the shoes of her father, who is the town’s secret superhero, sooner than expected. Little does she know, this will lead her on a journey of self-discovery through which she will uncover her inner hero, despite a lack of super strength, speed or coordination.
'Happiness For Beginners' is written & directed by Vicky Wight, and an adaptation of Katherine Center's 2015 book of the same name. A year after getting divorced, Helen (Ellie Kemper) books an Appalachian Trail survivalist course where she meets Jake (Luke Grimes), a friend of her younger brother (Alexander Koch).
'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' is written & directed by James Gunn. Still reeling from the loss of Gamora (Zoe Saldaña), Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) rallies his team (Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel) to defend the universe and one of their own - a mission that could mean the end of the Guardians if not successful.
